Visit a unique natural spectacle made of rock and ice! As with all caves, their formation took place over a very long span of time, the first cracks and chasms in the chalk cliffs were already formed during the mountain upheavals approx. 100 million years ago and have been enlarged and sculpted by chemical dispersal and water erosion over the millennia. They were even submitted for the “7 New Wonders of the World”!




The Giant Ice Caves at Werfen are approx. 30 km away from our hotel.
