#1 Tappenkarsee
The Largest Alpine Lake in the Eastern Alps • 1.5–2 hrs ascent • Ice-cold refreshment
Located at an altitude of 1,762 meters, Tappenkarsee is one of the largest alpine lakes in the Eastern Alps. Surrounded by steep rock faces, it offers a truly spectacular natural setting.
With a water temperature usually below 15 °C, the lake provides the perfect way to cool down after a hike.

- Ideal for: experienced hikers

#2 Waterfalls in the Rieding Valley
Impressive waterfalls • Pleasantly refreshing • Perfect in summer
You can hear the roaring waterfalls in the Rieding Valley long before you reach them. Especially on hot days, the cold mountain water provides a wonderfully refreshing experience.

#3 Bluntau Lakes
Turquoise-blue water • Family-friendly • Easy, mostly flat hike
The Bluntau Lakes captivate visitors with their crystal-clear water and breathtaking natural scenery. The hike through the car-free Bluntau Valley follows an almost level trail alongside the stream, making it perfect for families and those who simply want to enjoy nature.
Even on hot summer days, the valley remains pleasantly cool.

#4 Schuhflickersee
Summit hike with an alpine lake • 2,100 m above sea level • Refreshing reward after the ascent
Schuhflickersee is located at around 2,100 meters below the summit of Schuhflicker. This circular hike perfectly combines a rewarding summit experience with a beautiful alpine lake.
A fascinating fact: the lake has no visible inlet or outlet, yet its water level remains remarkably constant.

- Difficulty: moderate; the final section to the Schuhflicker summit is quite exposed
- Ideal for: experienced hikers
- Our tip: Also an excellent choice for a sunrise hike.
